Wedding Checklist: Essential Items to Pack for Your ROM (Registry of Marriage) in Singapore
Your ROM ceremony is just around the corner! Planning the whole wedding has been a whirlwind of endless checklists.
"Did I pack everything?"
"What do I need to bring for my ROM?"
Use this checklist, so that you can relax and focus on what truly matters – celebrating your love and commitment with your partner!
What Happens During ROM?
Before you start packing for your ROM, make sure you know what to expect during the ROM solemnisation process.
It's pretty straightforward if you're having it onsite at the ROM office at Fort Canning, but it might be a little bit more involved if you're having your solemnisation at an offsite venue. Be sure to check out our 5 best solemnisation venues in Singapore.
Packing List
The Essentials:
- Identification: This is a top priority! Pack the NRIC (for Singaporeans/PRs) or passports (for foreigners) for yourself, your spouse-to-be, and your two witnesses. Having proper ID ensures a seamless verification process with the solemnizer.
- Rings to Seal the Deal: Don't forget those beautiful rings that symbolise your everlasting love! Double-check you have them both safely packed and ready to be exchanged during the ceremony.
Adding a Personal Touch:
- Vows from the Heart (Optional): If you've chosen to write personalised vows, make sure you have printed copies for yourselves. Need vows inspiration? Read our top 3 tips for writing your wedding vows.
- Dress to Impress: This is your big day, so pack attire that makes you feel confident and radiant. Remember, depending on your venue (ROM building or offsite location), you might want to adjust the formality of your outfit. You can read reviews of wedding dress shops here.
- A Bouquet to Brighten Your Day: Flowers not only add a touch of elegance to your look, but they also make for beautiful photos. Choose a bouquet that complements your attire and the overall theme of your ceremony. Discover Singapore's highly rated florists here.
- Angbao for your solemniser. They are volunteers, and an angbao will be a small token of appreciation for their time and blessings.
For Offsite Ceremonies:
- Marriage Certificate Online (Offsite Only): Planning an offsite solemnisation? Prepare your Ceremonial Certificate of Marriage online beforehand. Print a copy to bring along and share a digital copy with your solemniser at least a day before the ceremony.
- A pen to sign off on official documents.
- Book your wedding solemnizer early in advance. You can read what other couples said about various solemnizers to find the one that resonate most with you.
Bonus Tip: Pack all your wedding essentials in small bag to keep them easily accessible on your special day.
